About

“Your eating is 24/7, so you get 365 days of wellness.”

Hi, I’m Nick Garcia. I am an independent health researcher, functional diagnostic nutritionist, holistic health nut, women’s boot camp owner, and self-labeled wellness chef, E.A.T. Man, AND “The Muffin Man.” However, before any of those, I am a lover of life, giver of love, and human Being.

Health, fitness, agriculture, nutrition, the culinary arts, and animals have been professions of mine, hobbies, interests, and areas of “expertise” my entire life.

Who is this Nick Garcia guy anyway?

You may have heard stories about how it’s weird that I own an all-women fitness boot camp, talk to my food while I cook, laugh at my own jokes during boot camp, walk into grocery stores JUST to smell the produce and organic meats, and stay up at night scheming new and innovative workouts and crazy muffin recipes (my clients call them “evil-schemes”) whatever, same difference.

All 100% true.

You see from my 1st grade into my high school days I was shy, suffered really bad allergies, and had asthma that would paralyze me for days. It got so rough that I literally missed half of my schooling from 2nd to 5th grade. I was sick, shy, weird, but still somehow was able to be semi-cool (At least that’s what my mom would say “You are cool, son!) Love you Mom!

As I got older my asthma and allergies got better, but food and exercise was my ENEMY! I had to avoid many foods in order to avoid a trip to the emergency room. When I did any sort of physical activity I better have had my inhaler (I called it my “Repeller”) as it repelled potential friends or social interactions.

I was embarrassed and self-conscious about my sickness, breathing machines, and I was shy about my shyness. I’m pretty sure being shy and being shy is an actual thing!

As I entered college at Texas A&M-Nutritional Sciences, I decided to dedicate my life to never feel like that again and after endless thinking and brainstorming, it came to me! I want to be a personal trainer! That turned into “I want to be a nutrition expert.” Which morphed into I want to educate people on awesome food and explore new ways to EAT this food. Today I think of myself as a Body/Mind Transformation Expert, combining exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle design into one!

Exercise and fitness is amazing and it is one reason I am healthy and fit, however, our food plays a much more integral part of our health, wellness, and vitality.

Food started becoming my FRIEND and exercise, well it become an art (after I studied the science, of course). Quickly, my slogan was short and simple:

Think Fit. Move Right. Eat Smart.

My passion for fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle design can be summed up in 3 what I commonly refer to as “BOOMS.”

Big Boom #1…

Realizing exercise was more than getting tired and sweating buckets. Many exercise programs are centered around “just” getting you tired and sore. Yes, exercise should make you sweat, work hard, and create muscle soreness. I enjoy seeing people sore, sweating, and working hard toward their goals, it’s inspiring. However, when you don’t combine your fitness program with a proper recovery system, nutrition program, and a biomechanic refresher, then you setting yourself for internal and external bodily disaster!

Big Boom #2…

Becoming enlightened to the world of “real food” nutrition. Nutrition is about establishing a relationship with food, not fearing certain foods or relying on restriction to have success in dieting.

I have committed to reading at least 3 books, 12 articles, any anything else I can get my knowledge hungry paws on in a given month on the topic of nutrition. The food industry, your body, and the way it reacts to food is DYNAMIC, so I, you, we must be dynamic along with it, making sure we stay ahead of the game.

It is our/your responsibility to educate ourselves on what foods do to our body’s physiology, understand the implicated of eating poor quality foods, and be aware of how to make better choices.

There are way too many quick fix diet “solutions” and promises of health by following this program, meal plan, program, etc…Bull! If you truly consider yourself an individual, a unique being that has a personality of likes and dislikes, then why follow a cookie-cutter approach, yes, even if the cookie is gluten-free! :)

We must learn to crEATe.

We must eat REAL FOOD!

Big Boom #3…

Lifestyle.

Fitness in ALL areas of life: physical, mental, emotional, physiological, etc…is my goal. Is my ultimate goal for my readers, clients, and friends.

Taking responsibility for your health, that’s what “fit” people do. Educating themselves, finding their motivators, committing to taking focused action, and facing their fears. This BOOM was the toughest to accept, because I had to balance myself in ALL areas of life. I committed to it and I have made a commitment to keep at it, every day. I make the choice to progress or regress. You have that same choice!

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me and I look forward to getting to know you too!

Nick Garcia
